Somebody asked her in the car park whether God had moved on it, and she said no, and she was right.
The situation is where it has been. She is not going to soften that for anybody, and if you put her in a room with somebody who tries to tell her it has secretly shifted, she will be perfectly polite and she will not believe a word of it.
But there is a thing she noticed this week, and it has been sitting oddly with her since.
She heard herself pray about it on Tuesday. Just in the kitchen, out loud, doing the dishes, the way she has prayed about it for years. And afterwards, drying her hands, she thought: that is not how I used to pray about this.
She used to argue. That was the shape of it for a long time: a woman making a case, marshalling it, saying the same points in different arrangements, with a lot of energy in it and some anger underneath. She could have delivered it in front of a congregation.
On Tuesday she said one sentence and then stood there for a while.
Not because she has given up. She is very clear about that, and she would be insulted by the suggestion. It is that somewhere between then and now the arguing came out of it, and she cannot tell you which year, and nobody has ever said a word about it including her.
And a sister said, warmly, in that same car park: fast about it again, sis.
She said she would think about it. And what she thought, in the car, was different from usual. It was: what exactly do I think has not been happening?
If you have heard yourself pray and not recognized it, come and stand in this kitchen a while.

Nobody is telling you it moved
Let us settle that in the first minute, because otherwise nothing else on this page will be trusted.
The situation is where it was. Nothing here reinterprets it and nothing here suggests you have been failing to see something. Your reading of the facts has been accurate for years and it is accurate today.
You are not being asked to talk yourself round, and your eyes have never been the problem. That is not a soft opening handed to a woman with a tea towel. It is written that the Lord looketh on the heart (1 Samuel 16:7), and the Holy Spirit is the one who has been in that kitchen through the arguing years and through Tuesday, and He has never once required you to pretend about a circumstance.
What is being pointed at is not the circumstance. It is the person doing the praying, which is a second location, and one that nobody has been keeping any records in.
The verse describes a change nobody watches happen
There is a sentence in Corinthians about being changed, and the grammar of it is the useful part.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.2 Corinthians 3:18
Read the voice of the verb. Are changed.
Not: change yourselves. Not: will be changed if you keep at it. It is passive, it is present, and it is happening to the people in the sentence while they are doing something else entirely, which in that verse is beholding.
And notice the mechanism named at the end: even as by the Spirit of the Lord. The changing is attributed, explicitly, to somebody other than the person being changed.
You are being changed by the Spirit of the Lord, and it has been going on while you were busy arguing at a sink. I am not saying it to make a hard car park easier: it is the voice of the verb and the agent the verse names (2 Corinthians 3:18), and it is His Spirit, not this page, who is doing the actual work, which is why nobody sees it happening.
And this is not a sign about anything
Here is the thing that has to be said plainly, because it is exactly where this kind of noticing usually gets ruined.
What you heard on Tuesday is not a signal. It does not mean the situation is about to turn, it is not the beginning of a pattern, and it is not God preparing you for news.
You are not holding a forecast, and nothing here knows what comes next. Scripture says it is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power (Acts 1:7), and it is His Spirit who makes that a relief rather than a let down, because the moment a small true thing becomes a prediction it stops being yours and turns into a bet.
And what you went without over the years bought nothing, in either direction. It did not fail and it did not quietly work on you instead. Nothing in this was ever a transaction.
Now the sentence this site says everywhere. Some people must not go without food at all, and being one of them takes nothing away from you. Diabetes, pregnancy, medication, any hard relationship with eating, being underweight, unwell, elderly or simply unsure: speak to your doctor and let their answer be the answer. You are not one step further from God because of what your body needs. Scripture says the Lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his works (Psalm 145:9), and the Holy Spirit has never once come in a smaller measure to anybody on account of a body.
And if this week has more in it than a page can carry, if you are frightened for yourself, put this down and ring somebody real: your doctor, a counselor, a crisis line, and the emergency services if you or anybody near you is in danger tonight. That is not a road around God. That is help He put in the world on purpose.
Here is the turn, and it does not require you to feel differently about the situation.
You are being changed, and it is happening in the one place nobody has been checking. He is not waiting on you to notice and He is not withholding anything until you sound grateful, because the verse puts the changing in the passive voice and hands the agency to the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18). You have permission today to look at the person praying rather than only at the thing being prayed about. The word puts it in your hands, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you (1 Peter 5:7), and it is His Spirit who has been at that sink through every one of the arguing years.
The situation is where it was. Both of those are true at the same time, and you are not required to trade one for the other.
Declare this over yourself
Say these out loud, in the kitchen, in your own voice. The standing to speak this way is yours in Christ and it is not issued on the strength of how much you have noticed. Scripture is the ground under it, the Holy Spirit is what makes it living rather than merely observant, and what God does about your situation and when is His, however He answers.
- Silence over that situation, you are real and you are not the whole of the record. We are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord, and 2 Corinthians 3:18 says it in the passive voice and hands the work to Him. In the name of Jesus I look at the woman praying today as well as at the thing she is praying about.
- Fear that noticing something small is just talking myself round, you are not God's word about me and you are not sitting in my car any longer. It is not for me to know the times or the seasons which the Father has put in His own power, and His Spirit is the one making that a relief rather than a let down. I am holding no forecast, and I am pretending nothing, and I am free.
- Father, You have been at that sink through every one of the arguing years and nobody was keeping records. Your written word says the changing is done by Your Spirit while a person is busy looking at You (2 Corinthians 3:18), and Your Spirit is the one who has been doing it. The list is written and nobody will read it, and I am going to go and do something ordinary now.
2 Corinthians 3:18
